Anime for Tourists in Tokyo

Ooh our guide looks like Edward!

At least these city folks know how to get tourists' attention! The City of Tokyo has announced an interesting anime project which will hopefully reel in more visitors to the area. The guys are planning to make anime about various city locations.

From what I gathered, they are incorporating information about various spots into one anime. Granted, they have been making shorter anime clips for a while now. However, this time they seem to be compiling them all into one animation. I hope the new one will snazzier than the current ones which are slightly bland when you think about it. I suppose I should not have been expecting artwork similar to Pandora Hearts when I checked out the current ones. Then again, this tourism project did receive a generous subsidy from the government so this time they can spice up the animation artwork a bit. 

I find it weird that they are aiming it at 20-30 year old visitors. I would think that the teenagers and pre-teens would be into that specific style of artwork. Then again, these shorts have a certain cutesy factor that might appeal to certain animation fans. Or so I tell myself; I still think they could have added something less formal, something less wooden, less … kiddy? Last time I saw those particular color hues, it was on a Sierra game targeting 13 year olds.

Well, keep an eye out for the brand new anime project. It should be launched in Spring next year.
