Now everyone will read the company manuals! I read over at ANN that a Japanese company has come up with brilliant idea – making manga manuals! The company in question is called Fintecs and they appear to be in the manual making business for a while now. Well, they took manual-making where no manual has gone before and created a fun and exciting manga manual!

Seems like the idea is to make manuals more user-friendly. Or perhaps the folks over at admin (and other equally hassled departments) got fed up of saying 'Didn't you read the manual? It's all there!' I am guessing that these are work manual that currently serve as 'How to' documents either for clients or various company folk.

Oh and it's not just manuals that is getting a manga makeover. From what I gathered at ANN, they will try their manga conversion tactics on pamphlets and other promotional materials as well.

I wonder how many companies will embrace this deal. Apparently this company creates manuals for a lot of folks so you never know, this might be the next big move. Unfortunately, a lot of countries still regard manga and other comic styles as childish (or worse, think of manga as porn). So it will probably be a while before other countries welcome this idea. One can only hope … Maybe we can hope for a Dilbert inspired work manual at the very least?

What's the next step? Maybe adapting work-related fine print on certain documents to manga. I certainly wish someone would try their hand at that. I know you are supposed to read all the details, but not many of us do, do we? Wouldn't it be more interesting – and certainly more entertaining- if fine print was in manga form?
